- Open the “Server Manager” and click on the “Local Server” from the left pane.
- In the “Local Server” pane, click on the “Ethernet” link next to “NIC”.
- In the “Ethernet” pane, click on the “Properties” link.
- In the “Ethernet Properties” dialog box, select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click on the “Properties” button.
- In the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties” dialog box, select the “Use the following DNS server addresses” radio button.
- In the “Preferred DNS server” field, enter the IP address of your primary DNS server.
- In the “Alternate DNS server” field, enter the IP address of your secondary DNS server (if you have one).
- Click on the “OK” button to save your changes.
- If you have IPv6 enabled, repeat steps 4-8 for the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” option.
That’s it! Your Windows Server 2019 is now configured with your DNS server(s).
